w0w! 1983.... they say if ya actually remember the 60s, ya didnt actually live the 60s, I remember parts of the 80s, theres a few hazy times mixed in but 1983 Friday Night Videos! coolest thing ever for us Country Kids that didnt always have 3 TV channels! and the commercials to boot? I didnt watch most commercials back then, watch even less now but somethin bout watchin the early 80s commercials and vids is almost relaxing; simpler times!

Another weekend is here. Mom has to work at the hospital. We're hanging out with our good neighbor, Hef, again. We each packed our overnight bags: our clothes, our weed, and our video games. We got to Hef's place, and right away we knew something was off. Hef asked us to sit down; he needed to talk with us. At first, we thought he was going to tell us no more smoking weed in the house, but it wasn't that. Hef began to tell us about Cherokee, Bob. A ruthless killer from the wild west. No one was safe from him, not women, not children, and not the elderly. Hef said he needed to go back in time and take care of this animal and his band of outlaws. We were very concerned and apprehensive about the whole idea. After smoking a joint and drinking a few beers, we reluctantly agreed. So you guessed it, the DeLorean rides again. Our destination: Florence, Idaho, May 2, 1863, one of the most violent, lawless towns of the Old West. The time period made it even more dangerous, right in the middle of the Civil War, and the town was divided. Hef told us we couldn't take part in the gunfight because our quick-draw skills weren't up to par yet. We arrived in Florence at exactly high noon. Hef now became the unwelcome stranger in town. We knew all hell was going to break loose; we all prayed Hef knew what he was doing. The gun battle began; Hef was calm and steady, his actions swift and sure. It didn't matter if they were Yank or Reb, Hef was piling them up like cordwood. Another one gone, and another one gone, another one bites the dust. When it was all said and done, the street from one end to the other was full of bodies. When the dust settled, all the good town folk flooded the streets to thank the strange, the unknown gunman. Hef was a hero; food and whiskey were on the house for all of us. What came to mind right away was Hef's comment when he told us he was born a century too late. When we got back to our time, we asked Hef to help us once again with our quick-draw skills. Of course we were only shooting paintballs. We're getting much better, but still need some more work and lots of practice...
Found this cutie on the livingroom wall just now. I'll put her outside tomorrow if I can find her again. She crawled on the ceiling.
I'm actually keeping her in the house. She'll do a good job with the fruit flies. My husband can deal with it. Lol.

In other news, I went to the Casino in Portsmouth Va. yesterday and was really disappointed, basically all video gaming I can do that at home, plus they charged me $82.32 for 3 hamburgers at the YARD HOUSE Restaurant...$82 bucks!!!

Hey SC, How times have changed. I recall being in the Azores in the 70s in a couple of the hangers we had F-14s Destin for Iran and right next To them F 15s Destin for Saudi Arabia. Talking about playing all sides. By the way the wife and I have been traveling the last 8 months all over the states visiting our children and grandchildren and long lost cousins etc. I call it the death tour as we’re both getting up there in age I’m 68 and she’s 62. So far no major ailments except a little hiccup with kidney stones on my side I have a new doctor who calls me his favorite stoner. Your looking good a little red maybe a new camera? You’ve lost some weight maybe? Fear not the Norfolk docs and I agree the traveling in that area just sucks.

A safety tip for anyone thinking of visiting flyover country.
Army68 and LAMPS SAR AWCS said below that they feel awkward when people thank them for thier service. I get it. I understand the feeling, but I have to counsel a little here. Don't feel awkward. You earned it. Those of us who thank you for your service are proud to meet someone who served. You gave your time, sweat, and blood for us and our country and we are VERY appreciative of that. And for those of us like me who regret not taking that oath and joining up, it means a little more when we give that thank you. When we thank you we are saying that we support you and we are appreciative of you giving your time and labor and maybe your life to our country in a very important time in your life. Thank you for your service!

fuckin VA... had an appointment at 0930 to see my excuse for a doc at the CBOC here in town because she evidently thinks more of me than I do of her-- no idea why I was suppose to be there but I showed up. parking lot had ONE car in it, doors LOCKED, lights off! so after I ran an errand I called the main hospital (100 mile away) and asked why in the hell the local CBOC was closed today. she replied all 'matter of fact' like IT ISNT. well, I showed up for my appointment and it was a locked up ghost town! get this! the bitch says, "Well we moved 2 weeks ago!" WTF! the building they were in was only bout 15 years old so they moved across town and then didnt tell anyone!

In other news, I went to the Casino in Portsmouth Va. yesterday and was really disappointed, basically all video gaming I can do that at home, plus they charged me $82.32 for 3 hamburgers at the YARD HOUSE Restaurant...$82 bucks!!!

Hey SC, How times have changed. I recall being in the Azores in the 70s in a couple of the hangers we had F-14s Destin for Iran and right next To them F 15s Destin for Saudi Arabia. Talking about playing all sides. By the way the wife and I have been traveling the last 8 months all over the states visiting our children and grandchildren and long lost cousins etc. I call it the death tour as we’re both getting up there in age I’m 68 and she’s 62. So far no major ailments except a little hiccup with kidney stones on my side I have a new doctor who calls me his favorite stoner. Your looking good a little red maybe a new camera? You’ve lost some weight maybe? Fear not the Norfolk docs and I agree the traveling in that area just sucks.

Don't feel awkward. You earned it.
Those of us who thank you for your service are proud to meet someone who served. You gave your time, sweat, and blood for us and our country and we are VERY appreciative of that. And for those of us like me who regret not taking that oath and joining up, it means a little more when we give that thank you. When we thank you we are saying that we support you and we are appreciative of you giving your time and labor and maybe your life to our country in a very important time in your life.

fuckin VA... had an appointment at 0930 to see my excuse for a doc at the CBOC here in town because she evidently thinks more of me than I do of her-- no idea why I was suppose to be there but I showed up.
parking lot had ONE car in it, doors LOCKED, lights off!
so after I ran an errand I called the main hospital (100 mile away) and asked why in the hell the local CBOC was closed today.
she replied all 'matter of fact' like IT ISNT.
well, I showed up for my appointment and it was a locked up ghost town!
