So, my old man was in the navy and one of his claims to fame (not much of one, but kinda connected to this) is that the whole hostage thing in Iran, the rescue team that died in the sandstorm or whatever left from the ship he was on. I dont remember the ship number but it was Nimitz and i remember him saying it was the first nuclear powered air craft carrier. He said he was an air traffic controller but he never did that kinda job as a civilian lol. He left the navy AWOL before the helicopters went down, but says he remembers seeing it on TV shortly after he decided to skip out on the navy while it was docked in spain or something and he hit up a flight home. He also remembers russian aircraft taking photos of the ship and with a bomber plane, and that sometimes our airplanes would leave the ship with bombs on them and would come back with nothing. We were not at war with anyone. Either someone was secretly getting bombed or they were wasting bombs so they can buy more (typical incestuous relationship the military and government has with weapons makers)

Is he talking about Operation Eagle Claw when he is talking about the helo going down? Because no Navy SEALs died on that. It was 5 airforce and 3 marines. If I’m remembering correctly. Like he picked a pretty famous thing that you can easily google and there was no navy anything on that helo nor the c-130 that was involved on that rescue mission. I coincidentally watched a whole video about it not that long ago. Everytime these guys start talking about how they lost brothers over there it irritates me to no end. That’s the worst kind of stolen valor, stealing valor while talking about the hero’s who gave their lives.

I dont like sitting in there because I feel like I am being watched. So now I can clean it out and spend more time in there. When its 110F and the power goes out, because the ceiling of the hut is so high, its actually cooler in there than anywhere else even tho its a metal box. It fits 8 small cars or 6 big ones. People have offered me money to store their boats and cars in it, 100 a week cash up front for 12 months but I would lose my privacy.

Here you go, give you an idea, Im on the right track.
I was doing some needlework in the kitchen, putting grommets into a fabric print to hang in the quanset hut to stop the old bag at the back from perving on me. Shes going to break her neck with luck. Anyway I heard a noise, where that wind come from, looked out the window to see both 8 yard flag poles snap at the base and fall over. The Australian flag snapped in half. Must have been 120k, never seen it before. Luckily I only lost a yard off the bottom, snapped clean, chinese ally. Slipped back in the PVC tubes no fucking worries.
Cube steak, mashed potatoes, and buttery brussel sprouts. Don't usually cook like this when I'm on call but the cube steak was about to expire. Had to do it.
It's Saturday, and Mom just came off a stretch of nights. She told us she wanted some peace and quiet so she could enjoy her music and a few bottles of wine. We'd normally just go over to Hef's place, have a few beers, watch some movies, and play our video games, but Hef has to be good because he's on call this weekend. So we decided the DeLorean rides again. We weren't sure what time period would be our destination. Then we remembered this story Hef told us, about when he was back in basic training with the Marines. He told us about one of his D.I's who got caught pulling his wire to a pinup of Marilyn Monroe. After this happened Hef said he couldn't help but to be smirking whenever this D.I was putting them through their paces. This D.I got all up in Hef's face, asked him what he was smirking at. To which Hef replied, he understood why this D.I got caught with his pants down. Hef told this D.I, if he had a woman back home who looked like a fire hydrant with a Bulldogs face, he'd probably be touching himself as well. Hef then told this D.I that he and the rest of the Marine recruits went to the commissary to put together a nice care package for him. This care package included a few rolls of paper towels and some Vaseline. Hef then went on to tell this D.I that it doesn't have to be the crime of the century, it wasn't like he was caught doing this around the men's shower. Lastly Hef told this D.I he might want to go easy on the new recruits, that it would be a real shame if his wife and family would ever find out about this incident. It was at this time that another D.I, Gunnery Sgt Highway took a real interest in Hef, he told Hef that he liked the way he improvise, overcome, and adapted. All signs of a good Marine. So we decided that our destination would be New York City, September 15, 1954, at the corner of Lexington Avenue and 52nd Street. For the filming of the subway grate scene from the 1955 film The Seven Year Itch, staring Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn Monroe, she's a beauty, one in a million girls...

When Don asks these phonies for names of fellow classmates i do my own Alzheimer's test. Im down to 5 other boots, the company CO and 3 DI's. Will always have the DI's names and its been 55yrs ago
If he had gone on that mission, he would have been just fine. No special warfare guys were injured or killed. He needs to do some research. There were mechanical issues that they could not complete the mission. An H-53 and C-130 collided. 5 Airforce and 3 marines were killed during refueling. They didn't die from flying into a sand storm. The sand storm was a contributing factor but not the root cause.

Back to the grain of truth in the story. My dad joined the Navy in 1943. He talked about training to swim to the surface if their ship was sunk and fuel was on fire (think Pearl Harbor). He never said anything about oil on fire during the training, just being taught the technique to have a chance to surface and get a breath if you found yourself in that situation.

It's Saturday, and Mom just came off a stretch of nights. She told us she wanted some peace and quiet so she could enjoy her music and a few bottles of wine. We'd normally just go over to Hef's place, have a few beers, watch some movies, and play our video games, but Hef has to be good because he's on call this weekend. So we decided the DeLorean rides again. We weren't sure what time period would be our destination. Then we remembered this story Hef told us, about when he was back in basic training with the Marines. He told us about one of his D.I's who got caught pulling his wire to a pinup of Marilyn Monroe. After this happened Hef said he couldn't help but to be smirking whenever this D.I was putting them through their paces. This D.I got all up in Hef's face, asked him what he was smirking at. To which Hef replied, he understood why this D.I got caught with his pants down. Hef told this D.I, if he had a woman back home who looked like a fire hydrant with a Bulldogs face, he'd probably be touching himself as well. Hef then told this D.I that he and the rest of the Marine recruits went to the commissary to put together a nice care package for him. This care package included a few rolls of paper towels and some Vaseline. Hef then went on to tell this D.I that it doesn't have to be the crime of the century, it wasn't like he was caught doing this around the men's shower. Lastly Hef told this D.I he might want to go easy on the new recruits, that it would be a real shame if his wife and family would ever find out about this incident. It was at this time that another D.I, Gunnery Sgt Highway took a real interest in Hef, he told Hef that he liked the way he improvise, overcome, and adapted. All signs of a good Marine. So we decided that our destination would be New York City, September 15, 1954, at the corner of Lexington Avenue and 52nd Street. For the filming of the subway grate scene from the 1955 film The Seven Year Itch, staring Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn Monroe, she's a beauty, one in a million girls...

If he had gone on that mission, he would have been just fine. No special warfare guys were injured or killed.
He needs to do some research. There were mechanical issues that they could not complete the mission. An H-53 and C-130 collided. 5 Airforce and 3 marines were killed during refueling. They didn't die from flying into a sand storm. The sand storm was a contributing factor but not the root cause.

Back to the grain of truth in the story. My dad joined the Navy in 1943. He talked about training to swim to the surface if their ship was sunk and fuel was on fire (think Pearl Harbor). He never said anything about oil on fire during the training, just being taught the technique to have a chance to surface and get a breath if you found yourself in that situation.
